New Meta Ad Features Just In Time For The Holidays

With the holiday season just around the corner, Meta has launched a series of ad updates to help businesses maximize their campaigns and connect with shoppers in fresh, engaging ways.

Promo Codes Directly In Ads

Promo codes are one of the most effective ways to incentivize shoppers. Meta’s new feature allows businesses to integrate promo codes directly into their ads, creating a seamless experience where users can instantly apply discounts without extra steps. 

This is a game-changer for holiday campaigns! Whether promoting a limited-time Black Friday deal or encouraging early Christmas shopping, this feature simplifies the user experience for applying discounts. The fewer clicks it takes to apply a discount, the more likely consumers are to complete their purchase, especially during the busy holiday season, where convenience is key.

In a recent Meta test, campaigns using the promo code feature saw a 9% median cost reduction per purchase and a 10% median increase in conversion rates for website purchases. 

 Note that this feature is gradually being introduced and may not yet be available in all ad accounts at the time of publishing this post.

Sitelinks

Previously, businesses had to drive all ad traffic to a single landing page. Now, with the introduction of sitelinks, brands can now direct users to multiple destinations within a single ad. This is ideal for businesses with diverse product lines and offerings. 

These sitelinks will appear horizontally below the main image or video, making it easier for users to find information or products, and enhancing the user experience. Currently, sitelinks are not available for carousel ads, and a minimum of three sitelinks are required to use this feature. 

The ability to guide users to relevant content while giving them choices ensures your campaign is not only more effective but also customer-friendly, which is key to success during the busy holiday season.

Updates to Reminder Ads

Meta’s Reminder Ads now offer even more capabilities, allowing advertisers to drive users to mobile apps for convenient in-app purchases. By notifying users more frequently about offers, reminder ads keep your brand top-of-mind throughout the shopping journey.

With increased notification options, advertisers can alert customers when seasonal sales begin and when they’re about to end, creating a sense of urgency. This is especially powerful for limited-time holiday promotions, helping brands drive demand and encouraging customers to act quickly before deals expire.

Location-Based Ads

Meta’s new location-based ad features allow businesses to reach customers in real time based on their physical location or interest in specific areas, displaying ads to people most likely to shop in-store and highlighting nearby locations. This is particularly valuable during the holiday season when foot traffic is at its peak.

Previously, location features were only available with the awareness objective, but this option is now accessible under the campaign sales objective as well. To use this feature, ensure your store locations are set up in Business Manager. 

For retailers, restaurants, and brick-and-mortar stores, location-based ads can target shoppers or tourists in high-traffic areas near your business. These ads can deliver hyper-localized content, bridging the gap between online and in-store purchases.
