How Granular Earns a Google Premier Partnership
In order for any organization to qualify for Premier Partnership level, they must exceed minimum criteria in three main areas and sustain the achievement over the course of the year. Requirement thresholds are checked by Google on a daily basis. The three main categories of criteria include:
Performance - Optimization Scores
Consistent ad campaign performance is a common goal for all involved in the Google Ad ecosphere – from Google through partners like Granular and all the way down to the client. To meet the performance requirements, a partner’s registered ad management account must meet or exceed a 70% optimization score. This score is a real-time estimate of how well a Google Ads account is expected to perform, based on a number of factors. Included in these factors are selected bidding strategies, expressed KPIs, and how well they adhere to an overall goal set.
Ad Spend - Minimum $10,000
While it’s not always the quantity that counts most, a potential client should seek out marketers with good experience and a proven ability to manage large campaigns. With Granular’s $100m+ in managed ad spend, they have experience and ability in spades. In order to qualify as a Google Premier Partner, an ads manager account must sustain an ad spend of $10k over a 90-day period.
Certifications - Held by 50% of Partner Strategists
Account strategists at Granular are not only experienced but also have the certifications to prove it. A Google Premier Partner is required to have at least half of their account strategists registered as Google Ads Certified. Certifications can be held in these five areas to qualify:

Further Achievement for Premier Partnership Status
Once a marketing partner meets the requisites above, it must also be within the top 3% of participating companies in any given country. This is determined using a set of factors measured by Google:
- Client Growth: both existing and new clients must experience growth through the effort of partners. This is measured year-over-year ad spend growth.
- Client Retention: partner must demonstrate an ability to sustain client business, as measured by percentage of clients with active Google Ad spend.
- Diversification: partner must demonstrate yearly investment in a mix of Google products beyond Search; this includes YouTube, Display Apps, Display & Video 360 and shopping.
- Annual Ad Spend: partner investment in Google Marketing Platform or Google Ads across managed accounts each year
